tjv Posted October 8, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) No one has started a thread about the new additions to the S2 website and additional photographs. As someone who, eventually, would like to buy such a camera as the S2 as an upper level alternative to something like a D3x, I'd be interested to know how people think these new sample images look compared to other systems out there. I know, internet jpg quality and all that, but perhaps someone can read through the marketing hype and provide a valued, informed opinion?

That is if you have the cash or a very friendly banker.
tjv Posted October 9, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted October 9, 2009 I agree. Perhaps it's also a case of everyone being totally sick of the long, drawn out release of a camera that was announced a good year ago. Just thought there might have been some discussion about the site update, at least here, a dedicated Leica forum.
stevelap Posted October 11, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 11, 2009 Those shots are still from pre-production cameras with early firmware. Once sample files from the definitive product are available I would expect the debate to start in earnest.

Yes but only a few more days/weeks and it is so important to get it right at launch, for this product even more so than the M9. People who spend this amount of money or change from another more established system are going to expect something really exceptional that must live up to Leica's build up. Jeff PS I enjoyed the site.
