cameramandan Posted October 4, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) i love my digilux 3. i would also love a digilux 4 if it happened. but i have a problem that has just occurred in the last week. i bought my DL3 when it first came out and it has done a lot of miles. a lot. i mainly use it for Studo shooting with a HAMA studio strobe flash hotshoe adaptor on the top to trigger my studio lights. this detail aside, the camera is now, of the last week or so, telling me to turn the camera OFF then ON again. this is happenend more and more frequently and is making it a bit unpredictable. and when i do this it sometimes asks me to do it again. this happens with and without the HAMA adaptor, so it is not that, i think. i should have a remote electronic flash trigger, i know. anyone have this problem? and any fixes? re-instal the software? i'm getting nervous, i don't want this camera to die. cheers, dj

cameramandan Posted October 24, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted October 24, 2009 i triede to reinstal the software as well but because it is aready in the camera it would not re-instal. and i could find NO way to reset the firmware to V.1 drivers, etc, so that i could reinstal v.2 or whatever it is. HOWEVER by my trying to reinstal the softeare, that is, i loaded it onto an SD card as per directions, even though it did not appear to reinstal the problem now seems to have gone away. well, for the last shoot, anyway. i will try it again this week on a new ob and i will keep posting if i learn anything. thanks, daniel jenkins metung australia oh, and the local australian importer were not aboe to help over the phone, said to "send it in." this i may have to do. Wolfgang Stutzle Posted October 25, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 25, 2009 after removing/reinstalling the battery and lens a few times i got it going again. I send an email to Leica, the reply, an hour later, was "send it in to our service department" The address: Leica Camera AG, customer service, Gewerbepark 8, 35606 Solms, Germany. that's what I will be doing - I have no intentions of sending it to Adeal, all they do is passing it on to Leica, adding a mark up for themselfs. cheers, Wolfgang Brisbane QLD. Ian Fozzard Posted November 10, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 10, 2009 This reply may be too late.............. However, it might be that the lens/camera connection is causing the problem? This may be the case especially if you are using adapters and non-digilux lenses (R lenses for example). This suggestion is just based on my limited experience - you could try changing the "no release without a lens" setting and see if that cures the problem - if it does then this may indicate a lens to camera contact problem. If you have sorted the problem out by now, please let me know what the cause was! Ian F
