xrogers Posted November 22, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello All. Happy day, my favorite raw photo converter now supports the M8. Raw Developer is a Macintosh only program that provides great raw conversions, compatability with many cameras (including the Dluxen, DMR and M8), an incredible array of controls, full support for camera profiles (I cobbled up a tone curve that gives me great results with the C1/JFI black and white profiles and the Canon 5D, I'll check it out on the M8 over the next couple weeks), and good integration with external tools (it works very well from iView, unlike C1). I haven't needed any support, but my questions about M8 support were answered quickly (within hours) and accurately by Brian Griffith, the main developer of the software. Brian knows about the M8, and plans to update Raw Developer to track the impending changes in the M8's color response. It's cheap ($100), version upgrades are free, and the 5D raw conversions are the most detailed I found (I compared to C1 and ACR). My first few M8 conversions look very good. You can download a fully-functional watermarked demo at http://www.iridientdigital.com. I have no connection to this software other than as a satisfied customer.
