ptarmigan Posted September 28, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a late 06 iMac Dual Core Duo (the white screen surround one) and I've been experiencing some issues with colour calibration since upgrading to Snow Leopard that have now been resolved by my change of the calibration software - I am now using ColorEyes Display Pro, much better and more configurable that the EyeOne 3 software I was using and much newer. One point/question still remains unanswered though...... what should I set the luminance to? I have previously used either 140 (which always seemed over-bright), 120 or now with the new software 100 which may on reflection be a little on the low side. Any help or advice appreciated. Advertisement Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hi ptarmigan, Take a look here iMac monitor luminance - 100, 120 or 140?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
archi4 Posted September 28, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2009 I have the last iMac's with the matte screen and calibrate and make printer profiles with i1pro and print to an Epson 3800. Best results for me are at 80! Then prints match the screen brightness very closely. 100 can also do fine, but in my opinion that is max. Cheers, maurice
Marquinius Posted September 29, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 29, 2009 I downloaded the demo program and, amazingly, it worked at first go. I could just click my spyder 2 as the optical tool, clicked and clacked my way through the options and ran the prog. Fast! And indeed, one can do something about the luminance. Not sure if I should use 80 (I used that now) or 100. Hmm, will look at it tomorrow. But ... it's not exactly cheap.
