Scott Root Posted September 27, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love my MATE, but can you imagine what we could do with a tri-summarit? Here is a picture I took yesterday with my MATE at f4 and 35mm setting. It's good but would have been better with the playground background more in the background, in my opinon. Advertisement Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Hi Scott Root, Take a look here tri summarit, please. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
batmobile Posted September 27, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 27, 2009 It would likely be big and not in keeping with the M concept. And even more expensive!
wda Posted September 27, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 27, 2009 It would likely be big and not in keeping with the M concept. And even more expensive! I concur with the above. An interesting concept, though.
SJP Posted September 27, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 27, 2009 If you van build a Noctilux f/0.95 you can also build a tri-noctilux 35-50-28, the prime criterion being the diameter of the front element. At what price is a different criterion.
batmobile Posted September 28, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 28, 2009 Besides, if you need more speed, what is wrong with a prime? For the price of a Tri Summarit you could buy two used M6s and used 35 and 50 crons, which in addition to whatever body you have now, would leave three bodies, two primes and a tri-elmar on three bodies if you wished.... or you could buy a used 35 lux asph + used 28 Cron. I often work with a pair of Ms, normally with a 28 on one and 35 on the other. Close FLs? Not to me. Stick a couple of bodies and a handful of lenses in a Domke F6 with your most used lenses mounted. It soon becomes second nature plucking the lens (with body) you know you are going to want in a few seconds.
