Asher Kelman Posted November 22, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I'm trying to find a B&W IR cut off filter for the M8. I can't find any in stock. I wonder why? I need a 46mm filter at the very least. I'd be happy with even a larger one that I could use with step down filters. I'd even jump at a square one! Now if you had second thoughts on your purchases, then I'm your buyer! I'm in Los Angeles. Also if you'd just like to shoot the M8 against your Leica, that would be fun too. I can be contacted via OPF. Thanks, Asher Kelman M.D., Ph.D. The Open Photography Forums Initiative

wide.angle Posted November 23, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2006 There must not be any more discussion room in the digital forum and it is spilling over into here, contaminating all our chemicals.

I'm sorry for invading your chemical love fest, LOL! I'll get the M7 in several weeks and return with the correct body. I posted in the wrong place but couldn't delete! Anyway, you have a nice place! Asher Kelman Posted November 23, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted November 23, 2006 Ahem, this is the film forum. M8? Never heard of it... Plexi, me neither! Damn hard to load film! Will get a proper Lecia, an M7, in 2 weeks time! I'm blown away by how beautiful the lenses are. Trouble is it shows some synthetic black materials as purple due to IR reflection. In any case, it's a beautiful little machine. Still, it's a great new option for Leica owners. I'm going to enjoy working with it! The issue of the high transmissivity of Leica glass for IR might even be relevent to some B&W or color films. Does anyone know?
