Does anyone have a suggestion on the best way to protect the LCD?

AlanJW Posted September 22, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 22, 2009 Giottos Aegis 8250. Thin optical glass, coated and antireflective. Its downside is it is quite expensive (abt $25) for a screen protector. But having tried a bunch of protectors, IMHO, the clarity of the Giottos distinguishes it

AlanJW Posted September 22, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 22, 2009 Which exact reference for Leica M8/M9 ? Oops SP8250 12 Layers Where to order ? Google it. I think the last one I bought was from J&R in NY. I think B&H and Adorama carry them too. I have one ready to pop on to my M9. Problem is I don't have an M9 and based on my place in the queue its not going to be until December.

chris_tribble Posted October 29, 2009 Share #13 Posted October 29, 2009 GSS are really good and seriously inexpensive. I'm using the Giottos for now but have just received some GSS screens as spares...
jlancasterd Posted October 29, 2009 Share #14 Posted October 29, 2009 DigiCover film. It's made in Germany and is available from Robert White in UK, ready cut to size. Easy to apply, tough but easily removable if necessary. It features a 'self heal' capability if damaged. I used it on my M8 and DMR and have recently fitted it to my M9. It cost about £10 ($16) including postage. Having discovered that the plastic monitor cover on my D700 tends to collect dirt between the cover and the screen, I've just ordered a set for this camera too.
