diogenis Posted September 21, 2009 Share #21 Posted September 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) i find it on dpreview. the reviewer posted some photos. it is possible the high iso photos look like heavy noise reduction i dont see why the reviewer will post any fake photos. it is obvious from the photos it is a showroom. i think the reviewer is very nice to share his thoughts and do need to be so mean. we are all photographers trying to share after all and there is no right or wrong review. Instead of doing what he did, if I was in his shoes, I would have simply took the camera I was given for testing -provided he was really given one- and test it, while at the same time I would try as much as I could -it is not easy I know- to wash my brain from how a dSLR is and feels. Then write down a sincere review about my thoughts... simple things, if I like what I just used, if I don't and why... stuff like that.. take some shots, its not difficult. Provided he DID had a camera to test. He was supposedly holding the smallest FF camera in the world and he forgets all about that and instead focuses in worthless lcd screens, live views and IS. Stuff that has nothing to do with how to take pics.. At least he praised the simplicity of the camera...
Advertisement Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 Hi diogenis, Take a look here oh! i saw a very good user review of M9 and X1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
guywalder Posted September 21, 2009 Share #22 Posted September 21, 2009 Hilarious thread! I guess nobody bothered to read the reviews intro that says 'The following reviews are not suppose to be some kind of a professional review. If you are looking for such reviews you will not find it in my homepage.' Or the other pages which explain that this is a site to share Mr Chan's college sports snaps and to stay in touch with his mates. Does anyone expect a serious review when half of the sample pictures are of the author?? A very good user review? How can you expect a good user review of a camera that is still security wired to the display desk???? Not quite the same as Leica lending him a camera, although of course YMMV If you use this stuff to influence a decision about something as expensive as an X1, let alone an M9, then more fool you. Bo_Lorentzen Posted September 21, 2009 Share #23 Posted September 21, 2009 iluvbibi, You gotta be kidding - the guy is clueless, you are right that he is probably a nice guy, but that does not excuse being clueless and writing a un-informed opinion, Im a pilot, but nobody have asked me to review a F16 (I would if they asked ) the problem might be I have no idea how to fly one of those suckers.! Mr. Chan should stick to reviewing what he "know" or go and learn actually operating a RF camera instead of giving misguided advise. Somebody mentioned its like asking a motorbike ride to review a car, I almost agree, except its the other way around, this guy is comparing a air-conditioned audi with a ducatti. and not pleased with the trunk space and don't know how to make it stay upright when stopped at a red light. . Jamie Roberts Posted September 21, 2009 Share #24 Posted September 21, 2009 {snipped} James you have beautiful wedding photos do you use the M8.2? Thank-you very much for your kind words on my work I hope you get to try one of these M9s for yourself. As for me, I still use my original M8, and still love it. The shots on my site were all taken with the M8, a Canon 5d2, a Leica DMR and a Nikon D3 (and various lenses). I can't wait to try an M9
andybarton Posted September 21, 2009 Share #25 Posted September 21, 2009 This guy seems to have used an M9 in a camera shop and seems to have little experience of using Ms before. Why are you even giving him any credibility at all by linking to his "review" here?
Bo_Lorentzen Posted September 22, 2009 Share #26 Posted September 22, 2009 Andy, The same guy posted with the IDENTICAL title in the X1 forum. - might be a fine time to use the ZAP powers of admin-dom. .
