63strat Posted September 22, 2009 Author Share #21 Posted September 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'll just add that I took 50 shots of my daughter today, indoors and wide open with the 50lux, and for the first time in almost a year, nearly every shot has perfect focus. I thought I just couldn't get a handle on that lens until now, it was so hit or miss for me.
Advertisement Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hi 63strat, Take a look here Summilux 50/1.4 focus problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
BerndReini Posted September 22, 2009 Share #22 Posted September 22, 2009 Trust me, you did well. You have just adjusted the rangefinder perfectly for your personal use. Do not send it in, if you like the results. No Leica technician in the world will adjust it any better for you. As I said before, the 50lux unfortunately suffers from focus shift at f2 and 2.8, but the fact that your images are now in focus proves that you did the right thing. I adjusted mine and my friends and we have been spot on in focus with all our lenses wide open. You did it, it's done. If it works for you, then don't let anyone make you doubt your adjustment. The necessary adjustment is usually so small that there should be no noticible change in infinity focus.
