Yes, that means they distribute those 8 throughout the US Alright folks, they are hand-making a Rolls Royce ... this ain't mass-produced Canons or Nikons ... you may get one end of next year lookin at the rate of production. 8 per shipment ... *yawn* ... I have learned my lesson well now ... every time Leica announces something, you should add 10-12 months to it before you can lay your hands on one. That way, the frustration level will be more under controlled. In the meantime, let me just go out there and enjoy my M8 ... I'd be a happier man. Have fun waiting in line. They now say the the M9 is "Not Available" and don't know when or if orders can be filled. Not sure what this means, but it can't be good news for those of us who pre-ordered from Amazon. I understand that I was the first deposit on their M9 order list. 1. I received an email today (Friday, 02 Oct 2009), from Adorama in NYC, that my Leica M9, shipped today with next day delivery; so, I should receive it tomorrow. They even show the serial number of the M9 in the email to me. 2. I had phoned in a pre-order to them weeks ago, even before they had a chance to list the M9 on their web site, where they still say, they're waiting for the M9 to arrive; therefore, they're likely filling pre-orders first. 3. I hope others, here in the USA and elsewhere, that are still waiting for their M9 will likewise receive theirs soon.
