Advertisement Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Hi mhoutman, Take a look here x1 cases. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ljclark Posted September 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 12, 2009 well, somebody has to be the first to be pre-occupied with this important question - are there yet any pictures of x1 cases floating around ? I think that depends upon how quickly Luigi can lay his hands on an X1. One of his cases would be quite elegant (and a little retro).

(btw interestingly, such a case is not available from leica for the m-series, but from third parties only)
lufan1011 Posted September 13, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 13, 2009 I expect that the case can fit the camera with the VF mounted.
nhabedi Posted September 14, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 14, 2009 I expect that the case can fit the camera with the VF mounted. From Leica's X1 brochure: For instance, the ever-ready case: this protects the camera and keeps it handy for fast and flexible shooting. It offers sufficient room for the camera with an attached handgrip, and features a smaller case attached to the carrying strap to hold the accessory finder. mborkowski14 Posted September 18, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 18, 2009 Case away! They're towards the bottom of this page: Google Translate The snap case with the viewfinder mini-case on the strap looks quite nice, but the bag system is probably more practical. I hope such cases are not produced by Leica's spec sheet. "32 mm depth" of the camera body does not include the lens which sticks out some additional 30 mm. Hello Leica, funny numbers. Sigma provides much more realistic numbers for their DP camera series.

murfman Posted September 18, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 18, 2009 Check out the video link in the X1 in action post. He shows some cases and how the cameras fit. There is also an interesting shutter speed demo.

It seems like aesthetic appeal took precedence over practicality in the design of the case. I guess we'll truly see when it arrives, though.
