M8 Upgrades

Whilst I have no intention and/or cash to move to an M9, nor have I (so far) wanted/needed to pay for any of the M8 upgrades (frames/shutter/glass/ etc), it occurs to me that the M8 upgrade program could be dropped by Leica at any time.

My (unanswerable) question is - will the cost of an upgrade be recouped in the resale value of the M8u over the M8?

Does anyone care to venture/speculate an opinion?

Thanks

David

Simple answer is no. You'll get more for each feature you add, but never recoup the cost, IMO.

Count on recouping half the cost and you won't be far out.

I bought a new M8 in June 2009 and stand to lose 1/3rd of the last retail selling price in px against an M9, leaving a £3,300 gap ...... :D

Agree with Rolo. Like extra cost accessories on an automobile, they make it easier to sell in a competitive second hand market.
