rjsplace Posted September 30, 2009 Author Share #21 Posted September 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for all the notes . New Safaris are out there but I keep watching Amazon.com as they have a 699.00 price and still show it backordered .You can order one and wait so mayby they have hopes of being restocked but I am skeptical. If anyine will get them I am sure Amazon has a large order and they will be one of the first.

Azeredo Posted October 4, 2009 Share #22 Posted October 4, 2009 Thanks for all the notes . If anyine will get them I am sure Amazon has a large order and they will be one of the first. I bought a D-Lux 4 at Willoughby's New York, last Sunday (9/27) . They had in stock, black, Safari Green, cases, handgrip, flash, viewfinder, and also the Panasonic viewfinder. I talked with the seller Silvio Cohen, and he told me that there are a great demand on this camera, and they will return in small amounts, with a new high price, ±U$750. playingolf Posted October 7, 2009 Share #24 Posted October 7, 2009 I just spoke to the Leica rep and he told me the DL4 will remain part of the line. Basically because there is a huge difference in price point, almost 3x between it and the X1. It was his opinion that the DL4 customer is a different profile than the X1 buyer....$2K USD for a fixed lens camera, albeit a very nice German one, will not get the buy-in that a best-in-class $650 camera will. Plus, he added, we can't keep DL4s on the shelf.

Ed_K Posted October 18, 2009 Share #27 Posted October 18, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Went to visit Merkle Camera in Toronto today, yeap .... they have the Dlux 4 in stock. According to the sales rep they too had one M9 but was gone within 24 hours, unfortunately Leica simply cannot send them more M9 soon enough to fill their waiting list .... cheers.
