Daniel Ortego Posted September 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been searching high and low in the camera menu and the manual for a master reset to “factory settings”, although I sure as heck can't seem to find it. The instructions guide (pg 46) simply guides you to reset a couple of specific values but that’s it. If anyone can help me with this rudimentary task, I'd would appreciate it. gailbarlow Posted September 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi Daniel, I've searched a downloaded PDF manual for both a Leica D-LUX 4 and a Panasonic LX3 manual and I can't find a "reset to factory settings" anywhere. In the Panasonic LX3 manual the Reset has slightly more information - it states - The [REC] or [sETUP] menu settings are reset to the initial settings. When the [RESET] setting is selected during recording, the operation that resets the lens is also performed at the same time. You will hear the sound of the lens operating but this is normal and not indicative of malfunctioning. When [sETUP] menu settings are reset, the following settings are also reset. In addition, [FAVORITE] (P108) in [PLAYBACK] mode menu is set to [OFF], and [ROTATE DISP.] (P107) is set to [ON]. The birthday and name settings for [bABY1]/[bABY2] (P67) and [PET] (P68) in scene mode. The [CUST. SET MEM.] (P62) setting. The [TRAVEL DATE] (P73) setting. (Departure date, return date, destination) The [WORLD TIME] (P75) setting. • The folder number and the clock setting are not changed. I know it does not help much more but I will be checking back on the forum myself in case anyone comes up with an answer! Regards, Gail
brucek Posted September 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2009 Would removing the battery for a long period of time work? Or are the values stored in flash memory? I would guess the latter...
