Here's a short video of him at work: Leica S2 Studio Shoot on Vimeo I'll be posting a full review as well. Should be able to get it wrapped up in a week or so. If you watch Michael's video, I'm the one in the maroon polo shirt. And, if you just can't wait to see an image, I've posted one from this shoot today. peterv Posted September 10, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi David, I look forward to your review, thanks. The photo on your blog looks amazing! What RAW converter did you use? Could you tell a little bit about your workflow? Thanks, Peter
dfarkas Posted September 10, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi David, I look forward to your review, thanks. The photo on your blog looks amazing! What RAW converter did you use? Could you tell a little bit about your workflow? Thanks, Peter Thanks Peter. For some odd reason, I actually used ACR in CS4 for that shot. Everything else I shot was processed in LR 2.4. I've found that the default (25) sharpening is the most you'll want to apply and that the files are extremely maleable. I tried loading S2 files into C1 v4.8.2 (which does work, btw), but the LR/ACR conversions just look better. C1 was givning very sharp files, but with odd color (no profile) and weird demosaicing artifacts. I've only been using LR for about two months (when I found out that the S2 would be shipping with LR), but I am just in love with it. Super fast, very stable, extremely powerful, and ultimately the best converter for S2 files right now. Thanks again. I'll try to provide as many workflow-specific details in my review as I can manage. David
ken_tanaka Posted September 11, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 11, 2009 I thought Michael did a nice job of presenting a day's worth of impressions of the S2 in a balanced manner. Of course he's a Phase / Mamiya owner and fan but he nicely highlighted the S2's strengths (to the extent that they could be identified in only one day) and its challenges, the greatest of which may be its prices. Congratulations and good luck with the S2, Leica.
sean_reid Posted September 11, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 11, 2009 This article is definitely worth reading. Michael has a lot of experience with both SLRs and medium format backs and is in a great position to evaluate the S2. Cheers,

I didn't read anything like that between the lines. IMHO this is a good sign for the s2:)
