delander † Posted September 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2009 Me too, The M9 forum is the new 'ghetto'. The M8 should be in the collectors forum. Jeff
Nicoleica Posted September 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2009 It's ever so quiet in here today? Did everyone get an M9 yesterday, and no longer wish to converse with us lowly M8 owners?
mustafasoleiman Posted September 10, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2009 It's ever so quiet in here today? Did everyone get an M9 yesterday, and no longer wish to converse with us lowly M8 owners? i think that this ghetto mentality is way too narrow... there should be only one digital m forum. we are putting way too much weight on the small variations of hardware over the similarities between the two platforms. ok the new m9 just came out so there are a lot of threads about it... some of them are interesting to m8 users, some m8 users are looking at the m9, so some of these threads are interesting to them... some users have both m9 and m8 (god bless them). eventually we are left with threads that are mostly valid for both m9 and m8 and we can ignore the ones we don't want, rather than flipping the bloody digital switch between the two ghettos. could we have at least a poll about this? pretty please? gfspencer Posted September 10, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 10, 2009 It's ever so quiet in here today? Did everyone get an M9 yesterday, and no longer wish to converse with us lowly M8 owners? The US price for an M9 seems to be about $8,000. I don't think that I will be getting one any time soon. There is a bright side to all of this. Since my M8 is not as valuable as it once was maybe I will actually take it out of the box and use it.

adli Posted September 10, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) It seems quite obvious that the M8 is not the talk of the town for the moment
hookonclassic Posted September 10, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 10, 2009 It's ever so quiet in here today? Did everyone get an M9 yesterday, and no longer wish to converse with us lowly M8 owners? Even though M9 is here ....... and sure, I will get one too just a matter of time ..... I still love my M8.2 which deliver nice picture out from the sweet spot of the lens by virtue of the crop sensor. In addition, since Leica will ceased production of M8.2 (wondering how many been produced?), this again will be collector item. I will use my M8.2 and set for B&W shots without UV/IR filters along with the M9 for color.
innerimager Posted September 10, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 10, 2009 I think separating the M8 and M9 into 2 forums is just silly and counterproductive. There will be a lot of useful comparison discussions, as well as enough overlap in discussion of using these very similar tools to warrant open dialogue. Other forums lump the higher end bodies like Nikon D3X, D3, D2, D1 in the same forum productively. RFF has a M8/M9 forum. So should we. I think I'll also start a new thread about this. best....Peter
