fishblimp Posted September 10, 2009 Share #21 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Upon reading Sean Reid's review of the M9, he makes some strong points about why the M8 (particularly the 8.2) is still a very worthwhile camera. Now that the M9 is out, I wonder what difference in (used) price there will be between an M8 and and M8.2. Obviously the M8.2's are potentially less used (less shutter use, less wear 'n tear), but they still do have Saphire glass, better frame lines, quiet shutter. AlanJW Posted September 10, 2009 Share #22 Posted September 10, 2009 The word from my dealer (who ia not taking trades ia that 8.2's are going for about $4000 8upgraded in low to mid 3000s and plain 8's somewhat less. I asked because I have an 8 upgraded (shitter and framelines, no sapphire) that I am replacing with a 9. Anyone interested in the 8 can pm me. Great condition and with grip. miklosphoto Posted September 10, 2009 Share #23 Posted September 10, 2009 After seeing the first batch of actual pictures with the M9 posted on this forum, I am even more convinced of the wisdom of holding onto my M8 and not spending thousands of dollars for more megapixels (not to mention the money I would lose by selling it). Be Happy... Absolutely agree.
gwelland Posted September 11, 2009 Share #24 Posted September 11, 2009 .... 8 (shitter and framelines, no sapphire) that I am replacing with a 9. Aww, come on ... the M8's not that bad ... My left & right brain are in conflict as to whether to trade my remaining M8.2 or M7 against the M9. My heart says neither.
