Shootist Posted September 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was reading a thread over at GetDPI.com forum about a report of the line through the images on a brand new M9. Hopefully this isn't a repeat of the M8 problem.

markgay Posted September 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 9, 2009 Yet again, banding is not a "Leica problem". What is banding?
Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2009 Yet again, banding is not a "Leica problem". What is banding? Hate to point this out but at $6995 Demming would posit that it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to screen these cameras out. Tell the owner it is his responsibility to return his camera across town/country/toSolms and you begin to lose any beneficience that your introduction imparted. Just a thought. Shootist Posted September 9, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted September 9, 2009 Yet again, banding is not a "Leica problem". What is banding? Well this is NOT banding. I'm just the messenger. Both my M8's had to have the sensor replaced for a line in the image that was NOT banding. Please go read that thread and look at the images posted before you shoot the messenger. Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2009 He actually may have a bad sensor which is certainly not normal but can happen. He actually has two lines going vertically and let's just see how this turns out. But I don't like the looks of it and he went back to the store and he is a experienced M shooter and frankly has a great eye.
