[i was banned until 1700 hrs today] Wow! what a fortnight we had - i enjoyed every moment of it. and in the process have broken some news ! Excuse me for blowing my own trumpet here, but I am immensely delighted to have done the following: 1. the mother of all leaks/scoops -M9 microsite and THE brochure + technical data Once the cached Japanese website mentioned about the M9 microsite [thanks Steve, for the head up], I was checking the internet every now and then using the old M8 microsite url as well as m9.leica etc. On Saturday , after lunch, around 2pm I saw that site. I browsed through, went to the "infopoint" link - just like on M8 microsite - eureka! the brochure was there. Took screenshots and downloaded all that available and started posting on LUF [ I was still not sure if these were genuine ]. and the rest, as they, is history. the internet went frenzy, and I got banned. 2. first sighting of M9 + X1 on flickr [see the post here] 3. the UK price - slightly off the mark [by 50 gbp] - which might be due to the last minute change and negotiation between the dealers and Leica. My only regret is that Andy Barton did not accept my challenge of price promise [of £4900] on GetDpi - otherwise, I would have been richer by 50 pounds But I would like to apologise to: 1. LUF and Andreas - for putting up all the stuff on Saturday afternoon. I had no malicious intention, was just sharing what was available to the public. sorry for any inconvenience caused. 2. Leica - sorry, folks at Solms , leaking the microsite and brochure took away the fun from your NY presentation today. 3. The Leica Rumour admin - man, I am your Naomi. sorry for all the teasing and bashing , but, hey, you got some genuine tips from me. Now, since, I have helped Leica quite a lot in executing one of the most successful viral marketing in the history - when will Leica send me a brand new M9 [well, if Seal can get a S2 , why I can't get at least an M9?] ? Obviously your photos would counteract your innate modesty, but then we haven't seen any of those - photos or modesty. Still, that's the internet for you. If so, then, as I said, I am unashamed to blow to my own trumpet , which obviously does not make me a modest person, but I mind being called a 'joker'. secondly, what has 'photograhic credential' got to do with breaking news? I am not posting any technical/ aesthetic commentary or review which would require 'photographic' credentials. Analogically, journalists are not required to be politicians, the former does not take decisions or make policies , they just report what the latter do. various leaked information about M9 kept the forums buzzing and people guessing - and I have made fairly large and substantial contribution to that, irrespective of whether you recognize that or not. without those information, you guys wouldn't have talked so much. it's completely another thing that others could have brought those news to you, instead of me. it's easy to pass judgement, but what credentials do you have to do so?
