amod Posted September 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does any one know how to manipulate back-light compensation in D-Lux 4 camera in the automatic mode as well as manual mode? The user manual instructs to press the up arrow, but it leads me to exposure adjustment instead. I have recently bought this camera and the dealer who sold me this camera does not know this either. Would be great if someone posted a reply. Cheers! Amod

Guest Essemmlee Posted September 7, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2009 Backlight compensation is done via exposure adjustment.
integrale Posted September 7, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2009 Either exposure compensation or use the (fill-)flash.
amod Posted September 7, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted September 7, 2009 Ok thanks, will try it out. Is there an auto backlight compensation option like in sony or canon? regards, Amod
ho_co Posted September 8, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 8, 2009 Amod-- The only mention I see of the topic is on p 19 of the manual: If you're in Snapshot mode, the camera will automatically compensate for backlight. I think they figure that if you're sophisticated enough to be using one of the other modes, you'll compensate for backlight on your own--by locking the exposure, by giving more exposure than the meter recommends, by dialing in + exposure compensation, using fill-flash, etc. The camera is amazingly sophisticated, but that means there's a learning curve till you get it set as you want it. Check the owner's manual on this.
