RWL

I think most post-production software will accept the RWL-files, but you may need a plug-in.

I use PS Elements 7 that will read and edit the RWL files through the plug-in Camera Raw; downloadable from the photoshop.com website. Most modern Leica digital cameras are supplied with raw-enabled software as standard.

I know there are substantial differerences in how each software system interprets the RWL data, so maybe the more knowledgable members here could highlight the pros and cons of the various programs...?

Has anyone heard of a pending update for Aperture to open these files ? Maybe Aperture 3 will, but not heard or seen any dates for its release

Lee--

Apple's approach has been to put RAW recognition into the OS. So all they need to do is produce an OS X update with RWL recognition, and all their apps will automatically work with RWL.

As you know, the technology behind RWL was the breakthrough that forced even Adobe to produce a new DNG definition to accommodate the lens-correction opcodes in a non-linear file. So RWL may be tougher for Apple to implement than they had hoped.

I, too, am surprised how long it's taking them.
