Wide Angles on an M8

I can see that IR cut filters will address the magenta problem but will they create as many problems as they solve?

Mark--In several threads I've made the following suggestion, but I don't think it has received a single response. Maybe I'm so far off base that no one deigns the idea worth an answer.

Either way, here goes again. I'd like any correction/advice/opinion:

For the Wide Tri-Elmar and other lenses wider than 28mm, use an IR-absorption filter (B+W 489, Schott KG-3 glass etc). It has a filter factor of 1.2x and a slight greenish tint which might require a separate processing curve, but it avoids the issue of the cyan corners.

Not the niftiest solution to use two different profiles, but better than variable cyan corners, no? Might also help with lens brands or models that Leica can't zebra stripe.

Straighten me out!
