peka69 Posted September 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2009 Hi Roger, a warm welcome in the Leica Forum. You can download for free the user manual on the official Leica Website in the downloads section ... Enjoy your Digilux 1! If you want to have a wonderful entry in the Leica universe have a look on Torsten Overgaards page - don´t miss to read the in depth articel of the Digilux 2 - because of Torsten´s enthusiasm as a pro I now also own a Digilux 2 - and I definitely share the enthusiasm of the Digilux community leica.overgaard.dk - Thorsten Overgaard's Leica Pages of Leica and Leits equipment, samples, tests, reviews, tips and tricks br, Peter
MJLogan Posted September 2, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 2, 2009 If you're talking about the original D-LUX (not Digilux), then sadly the manual is NOT online at Leica's site. I have a digitized D-LUX manual, but it's in French, and the PDF is 18 MB even after reducing file size! If you can read French and can receive files that large (via FTP or some other sort of large file transfer service) I'll be happy to send it to you. For software, you can just use whatever photo manager you prefer--the camera outputs JPG format. I use Aperture, since I also have a Digilux 3 and shoot RAW with that camera. I still love the D-LUX. It takes amazing pictures, and I think it's a gorgeous bit of industrial design. My only issue is battery life. At this point the original batteries and the third-party batteries I bought have all become quite anemic.
jrethorst Posted September 2, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2009 There's approximately a ton of Leica manuals in PDF format for download at Scribd.com.
relias Posted September 3, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted September 3, 2009 Thanks both for the replies, i can't read French, but i left an E mail to sales at Lieca uk, and they replied they have a couple of manuals for the D Lux 1, which my camera is. The cost £5 including postage. thats very reasonable. Have ordered. Thanks again to the replies.Roger
