Ian Fozzard Posted September 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a Digilux 3 bought in Spring 2008 - since then I've purchased the Panasonic 14-150 lens and a Sigma 105mm DG Macro lens. All work well and do everything I ask. My question is about Firmware upgrades - I believe there are upgrades available for the Digilux 3 but I'm not sure how valuable these might be, how to get them and how easy it might be to install onto the camera.? Any pointers from anyone experienced in this area would be most welcome, many thanks Ian Fozzard

integrale Posted September 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2009 I have no personal experience re. Digilux 3 firmware upgrades, but you may want to check out the Leica website: Leica Camera AG - Downloads
MJLogan Posted September 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2009 The D3 firmware upgrade on the Leica site is Leica's equivalent of the most-recent Panasonic upgrade. Some useful features have been added: double exposure capability, a low-angle setting for the LCD screen, a new OIS mode (only for OIS lenses, obviously), plus a few more details. There's an explanatory PDF available for download along with the upgrade. Follow the instructions and you'll have no trouble with the installation. carlosecpf Posted September 2, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2009 I bought my Digilux 3 1 month ago, and since it was a new camera, it came with the 2.0 firmware already built-in. From what I've read on the internet, this upgrade is highly recommended and it's an easy process. Good luck!
roguewave Posted September 4, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2009 I'm curious to know how one can check the current firmware in the camera. Does anyone know how to do that?
