Actually, for the Chinese world, it the number 8 (altho 9 ain't too bad either). An example was last year's Beijing Olympics, which started at 8 minutes after 8 pm, on August (the 8th month) 8th. The year was, of course, 2008. 8:08 pm, 2008/08/8. You also have to pay an awful lot of extra money to get a license plate for your car with lots of 8's on it.

And you've got to avoid 4's as much as possible. Most high rise buildings have no 4th floor.

And so it goes . . .

The Chinese word for "eight" sounds a lot like the word for "luck"

The Chinese word for "four" sounds a lot like "death"

The picture of the 'X1' being shown on other sites looks like something a clever home handyman has manufactured in his workshop. If it has come from Solms, I would think it to be, at best, a very early mock-up - albeit of an intriguing concept.

The Chinese word for "nine" can mean a dog but usually meant "forever" or "dragon". Six "nine" however in i-ching has very special meaning including one said that it meant a competition of all the kings, "good signs". But the "nine" has to be all "female"/"passive" otherwise it is too hype to be of any good.
