Coding is needed to correct vignetting, not the IR issue, which can be set through the camera menu and does not require coding (as long as you have a UV/IR filter on, of course) ... Coding is necessary to activate in-camera correction of the cyan shift that a UV/IR filter causes off axis, and which becomes noticeable at focal lengths above 35mm on the M8, and above 28mm with a full-frame camera (I just checked the last statement). It does also correct ordinary luminance vignetting, but that is a different phenomenon entirely. Always thought it was the same nature of correction. Guess this is because I never bothered to check the difference... Thank you gentlemen - there's always something to learn in this forum!
