rjsplace Posted August 28, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone shot any comparisons of the two DIgilux 2 close up lenses? Runors are Elpro is more then one element and may have additional coatings. Others say only one piece of glass so as this discussion has been going on for some time did anyone shoot some comp[arisons? Also has anyone tried the Canon d250 58mm close up (stepped down from 69mm) on the D2 supposed to be much closer then the standard closeups but you need to be at 90mm which is about rtight for me anyway. Advertisement Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Hi rjsplace, Take a look here Comparing Elpro close up to Panasonic cl69. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted August 29, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 29, 2009 No comparisons necessary. All Elpros are cemented achromats designed for the specific lens in question. The Panasonic offering is just a single-element plus diopter lens. Tiffen, Hoya etc also offer kits of several different positive lenses, say, +2, +3, +7, so you can use them in various combinations. The Elpro 69 is designed so that its furthest focus is the same as the Vario-Summicron's closest focus. Far better optically than the others.
dhsimmonds Posted August 29, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 29, 2009 I agree with this. Go for the Elpro 69 for the D2....as soon as you feel the weight of it you know that it is a special piece of glass and it produces great images with either the D2 or LC1.
