ayres Posted August 28, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi everyone, i might be in the market soon for some new software, and i would appreciate hearing from you (what you have, your opinions on interface and intuition, etc). i've noticed that software does tend to come up now and again in many threads. but i have not noticed a thread specifically addressing my thread heading... i unexpectedly fell in love with making/stitching panoramics of all kinds - even with my microscope work. i currently use autopano pro by kolor. many of you may know of it. it is a fantastic software: very flexible, super easy interface, and does a beautiful job. of course, its sole purpose is to stitch. it does not have any hdr capabilities, and this is something i'm beginning to shoot for. kolor makes another software called autopano giga (with hdr capabilities)... if you have it, i would love to know what you think. but regardless of what you use, if you stitch and do hdr work, i'd love to read some replies. cheers, ayres

sfage Posted August 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 30, 2009 Yes, Pshop certainly doesn't seem to do a good job of this.
lesh Posted August 30, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 30, 2009 Don't know about software (other than Photoshop) that will do both Pano's and HDR. General consensus seems to be that Photomatix is tops for HDR work, although there are always some differing views, but I'd go with it for HDR work. Photoshop seems to do an ok job on Panoramas (Automate/Photomerge), but Photostitch and Panoramaker which came free with some hardware also work fine for me. But then I'm cheap.
