pdxphoto Posted August 28, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am an idiot and the camera took a short fall out of my bag. It was inside another camera A&A bag, but that apparently didnt help. Everything looks and operates fine except the focusing is really hard to slide in the middle of the movement. CRAP... Suggestions for a repair place in the NW or what I should do!?!?!?! I should note, that I have had my leica's for 15 years with no dropping what-so-ever... First time for everything... Advertisement Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Hi pdxphoto, Take a look here hard focusing after a fall :(. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jacksparrow Posted August 28, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2009 I'm sorry about your accident. Is it the lens or the camera? maybe you'd want to take it to a technician to take a look on the inside. I dropped mine a couple of years ago and it was a real "Oh, shit" experience. marknorton Posted August 28, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 28, 2009 Yes, you hear of people dropping their camera onto concrete without a problem. I dropped mine, inside a Crumpler bag and the Tri-Elmar lens was completely jammed. Which lens is this?
spydrxx Posted August 28, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2009 Had a similar problem last winter...a gust of wind blew the camera off my car hood while I was groping around in the bag...the 50mm Summicron was harder than blazes to focus after the fall. DAG took care of it for me and it's probably good for the rest of my life. Give him a call or email.
