markedavison Posted November 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here are some test shots made with an M8, a Leica 24 2.8 ASPH lens, and a Tiffen standard hot mirror filter. M8 color studies with IR blocking filter There is really no noticeable cyan vignetting in these shots. They were all taken at an aperture of 5.6 or smaller on a rare bright sunny day in Seattle WA, USA. The resolution and color rendering of this camera (with the appropriate filter) is really quite amazing. It's almost like carrying a medium-format film camera. Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 17, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 17, 2006 Mark looks pretty darn good. Is this uncode or coded
innerimager Posted November 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 17, 2006 Very nice Mark, thanks for posting. The more I think about it, if there were any chance that an internal change in IR filtration would impact even slightly on the wonderful resolution and IQ of the M8, I much prefer external filters, when they are even needed. (Not to mention external IR pass filters that will allow IR photography!) best....Peter
markedavison Posted November 17, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 17, 2006 Uncoded. I presume coding would reduce vignetting in firmware, but there's not a whole lot of vignetting anyway. I'm very happy with the way in which the offset micro-lenses reduce vignetting with uncoded wide-angle lenses. Mark
