readymade styles for captureOne 4

Hi,

I've been using lightroom for 2 years, but I recently decided to start using CaptureOne. Although I do not like the ergonomics etc. I admit the results of raw processing are better.

I really like all the presets of Lightroom, I could download many from people creating them.

In CaptureONE they are called Styles... but they are just a few. Where could I find ready made style? how do I install them?

Thanks you,

Eric

Eric, I've never been an officianado of Lightroom so I am not sure what the 'presets' are that you refer to. The ergonomics of C1 you will get used to, with persistence and it is worth it. Perhaps if you could explain, in photographers terms, what you wish to achieve and we can maybe help a bit more.

At a guess I am thinking maybe you want to establish a pre-defined set of of parameters across a batch of files. I do that by adjusting the first image, including profile, curves, levels etc + anything else to fit your desire then 'copy' that set of changes. Then select 'all' the other files and 'paste'. Done!

What he is trying to say is, if you open a photo, C1 and click on the style tab, you will find 22 different presets, ie, B&W high contrast, color 70's look, and so on,

What he wants to no is there any more, he can add, other than the ones there, ie, user made styles, downloadable styles

That's right Josh. This is what I want. More styles. As it is possible to create and save a style I am surprised no one as done it the same way some people have done for LR and made them available. I do not mean for free, I'd be ready to pay for a reasonable price.

OK, I see what you are looking for now Eric. Sorry, but I can't help with that. I usually apply any such effects manually. Don't know how to generate and save them myself.

Eric,

Go to the color editor (or the advanced color editor). Make any changes you like to any colors you want (or to all the colors at once, for a BW for instance).

Once you make the tweaks you like, click on the option to "Add Preset" (instead of save as ICC profile) and there you go: you have a style now.

The color editor is where the real power of C1 comes in as well.

You can also look at some of the Phase styles in the color editor to get some insight here.
