azzo Posted November 18, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2006 ' Just enough light ' You could'nt have said it any better. This image is very nice and also very interesting. Just look at the highlights, from the model's boots up to her hair, fantastic. Best Azzo

PhotoArchival Posted November 18, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted November 18, 2006 Thanks Azzo, Alberto, and Ed for the comments and interest. I too am very fond of this shot and was happy to see it when I got the film developed. Amado
vic vic Posted November 18, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 18, 2006 amado.. nice.. but.... the white frame is really disturbing... it is like kitch orageration :-))) about the photo... if i go with some constructive critiques... the photo falls in "no man's land"... it is too croped in its composition and then the sense of room and the window is lost, and the photo becomes too much over-composed... forced composition with frame into frame etc .... PhotoArchival Posted November 30, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted November 30, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry for my ignorance Vic, but what is 'kitch orageration'? Also, thanks for the suggestions. I took a few other very different shots of my wife on the window (before moving on outside before the light left) and this came out the most relaxed and I think the best. I do see where you are getting at with loosing the sense of the room because of the tight crop, but the window IS there. I don't know why I didn't move back a bit and try that view point. Also, would you suggest I take this shot in landscape format or portriat when I give myself more space between me and the subject to include the rooms presence? What the heck! Here are the other four.
vic vic Posted November 30, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 30, 2006 hi amado.. i mean that the white border in your first post is very much like people that puting flowers deciration around photos... kitch and disturbing :-)))) the last post is the closest to be the best... the others in there are too much 1-to-1 rendition of geometry which is too obvious and not interesting at all. i know - it is very tough to work with such a sharp lines in composition, but no way - u have to look for the "perfect balance".... it creates frame into frame into frame, and usually it is really not interesting. nice try over all - keep on trying to work with geometric forms of interiors.. this is really difficult subject even for most experienced interior-specialized photographers ... azzo Posted November 30, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 30, 2006 Amado, they are also good but your first beats them all, IMHO. Best Azzo
LADP Posted November 30, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 30, 2006 I like the first one very much, and I like the frame (window) within the frame (photograph) composition. I would prefer it without the white border though, as Victor mentioned above. Nice shot, and nicely exposed.

wizard Posted December 1, 2006 Share #13 Posted December 1, 2006 Wow, what a shot. #1 that is, clearly the best. Great combination of light and pose, leaves something to the imagination of the viewer, very interesting. Andy
