I have been using eye fi card with dlux -4 for 4 months and was very happy with it.

When I saw the announcement about RAW support in a new Pro card I immediately contacted the company and asked them if they support M8 (it was not on the list of supported cameras). They assured me that Pro card will work fine with M8. So I ordered it on line and payed around $200 for 4G card. The new card did not work properly at all. Very slow, not all files transfered etc. I had numerous discussions with tech support, send log files to their engineers ets. For the last mont I was very busy and did not call them to find out if they have any answer for me. Last week I finally contacted them and inquired on status of my case. The guy I was talking to ( the new one) asked me what camera I am using and when I told him about M8 he said that he also has M8 and eye fi card will not work with it because "it is too much metal".

If you had plans to by this card for M8 don't bother

Of course it won't. The M8 is a massive metal box which shields the signal. Can I ask why you need WiFi? Is it for a tethered application? I only ask because I've always felt the WiFi card is a technical idea looking for a market and the best wireless transfer card is the one you remove from your camera and put in a reader attached to your PC.

With Dlux 4 I dont use it all the time, but in a lot of cases it is very convenient. you come home turn the camera on, buy the time you get to the computer most of the pictures are already there (in iphoto). My mac book does not have SD card slot, so I have to use external card readers. USB slots are so close to each other you have to remove everything to use the reader (new mac books now have SD readers). I wanted to use the card on M8, this would simplify the procedure of getting the card from the camera. I use luigi half case which is great, however you have to remove it to get to the card.

It should work fine if you take the baseplate off and poke the little switch to con the M8 into thinking the baseplate isn't removed. If someone would make a plastic baseplate that would be another option.

Well that all rather defeats the point of the eye-fi card! :p The other issue is that you need a car battery to give the camera enough life to actually transfer all of the files if you've had a productive day.

I set up the eye-fi for my sister for her P&S but the battery drain is a significant impediment to general use. It is convenient though and certainly makes it easier for the more senior USB cable challenged in the family to actually move their pictures off the card and on to the PC.

Mine works fine with my M8. Before buying the Eye-fi Pro card - primarily for my Oly E-P1 - I posted questions (elsewhere) about performance. The responses I got back were mildly discouraging for the E-P1 and very discouraging for the M8.

But I bought one anyway.

I DID have some difficulty setting up the wifi network on the card - probably because my chosen computer was a Viliv S5 hand-held device with only one USB host port and wifi-only networking. However, after a LOT of messing around I have now got it to work extremely reliably on both the E-P1 and the M8. In fact, I'm using it much more on the M8 than the Olympus because it enables me to overcome one of the poorest features of the M8 - the mediocre quality (and small size) of the screen which makes it difficult to evaluate an image off the back of the camera. I'm very keen on the creative possibilities offered by extremely shallow DOF. However, my eyesight isn't that great and I have a lot of trouble getting accurate focus using the M8 (particularly in fairly low light) - and especially with my CV Nokton 50 1.1. The combination of the M8, Eye-fi Pro and Viliv S5 has proved to be a real winner for me. My DNG images transfer to the Viliv by wifi within seconds of my releasing the M8's shutter. I can view them straight away in Picasa and zoom in to check critical focus.

And the Viliv is highly portable solution for tethered operation of my DSLR too - but that's another story for somewhere else.

I'm assuming you are doing this via your home wifi network router or something similar, right?. AFAIK the EyeFi cards do not support adhoc connections, or am I mistaken. Your use of the Viliv S5 with your M8 would be very compelling if you figured out a way to have your image files wirelessly transfered directly from your EyeFi to your Viliv. Is that what you're doing? If so, please tell us how.
