I just bought a Leica D-Lux 4 and I am trying to figure out this baby. Can someone please explain to me the "picture size" option. What is the purpose of this? The choices are between 9M and 2M. What does it do? When do you apply each number.

Thank you in advance.

This relates to the size (or quality) of image being recorded onto your data card. The M (megapixel) number will vary dependant on what image quality you require and on what format (4:3, 3:2 or 16:9) you have set.

If you want good quality pictures to publish or print from, choose the highest quality (or RAW). If you simply wish to view on a laptop and prefer to record hundreds of images on a single card, choose a lower resolution.
