I was happy for the upgrade and service.

The D3 is a better camera.

The D2's evf was terrible -at best- the chip was small, it wrote so slowly you'd probably get mugged (or stabbed) waiting for it to write...

What's the big deal?

To be honest -and this is not directed at anyone in particular- but it seems that a lot of retirees are waiting around for the next newest and greatest thing (to blow their money on) to post photographs here.... of their pet kitten.

A ten thousand dollar camera will not improve the quality of one's composition.

Spend the money on a trip to Africa. I don't mean to be the net internet flamer... but come on!!!

As the original poster here I thought I'd might chime in.

First off I'm no where no retirement age. 2: I was not talking about a camera anywhere new a 10k price point. As a matter of fact I paid a little over $600 for it and a new D3 listed for around 3.5 k. 3: I have spent more than my share of time and money traveling around the world. I don't believe you know me and I doubt you know many or any one else on this chat site. SOOOOO you might want to loose the arrogance.

On a lighter note. I have found a replacement D2 should be in my hands next week. Popflash received more leica referbs. I'm also awaiting a new D300s w/18-200mm VRII, that I will flip for a D90, a wide angle lens and a new d-lux 4. My insurance company took care of me on this one.

Thanks for input on this thread

The best $564 you'll spend on a Leica camera!

He really sells them fast, out of stock again...
