cstevens Posted August 15, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) As I have the grip for the D-Lux 4 I like many others struggle to find a decent case (without paying Luigi prices). I did just find this one and wondered if anyone has any experince. From the pics though it doesnt seem to have a cover ARTISAN & ARTIST* DLUX 4 SERIES BLACK LEATHER CASE on eBay (end time 28-Aug-09 19:20:59 BST) I am in the same boat looking for a case with the grip with a lensmate attached also. Oh how to protect my little camera!
Advertisement Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Hi cstevens, Take a look here D-Lux 4 Case. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cstevens Posted August 15, 2009 Author Share #2 Posted August 15, 2009 And actually found on on these peoples site for slightly cheaper ARTISAN & ARTIST* LMB-D4HG D-LUX 4 SERIES BLACK LEATHER HALF CASE NEW! (CASE DESIGNED FOR CAMERA WITH GRIP ATTACHED) So it basically is a protection half case to protect the body. I am thinking that it might actually be quite a good case for the D-Lux 4 & Grip both with and without a lens adapter. Hopefully someone might have good experinces of it. Tenor1 Posted August 17, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 17, 2009 Here is a link for a neoprine case that exactly fits the DL4. I'm sure it will accommodate the hand grip. 7401014 Op/Tech Soft Pouch Case for Digital Cameras - Black - #D-Micro Also Popflash.com has a Leica-make ever ready case on sale, but it doesn't look like it can take the hand grip. jimbo035 Posted August 17, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 17, 2009 I have a Kata DP415 which holds my D-Lux4 + handgrip + Voigtlander 35mm viewfinder comfortably. Not leather.... but worth a look. (Unfortunately not enough space for a lensadapter as well) Photo bags, Video bags, camera bags - Kata - Manufacturer of camera bags I bought mine from Warehouse Express (a UK Mail-Order Supplier of Photographic equipment)
cstevens Posted August 17, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted August 17, 2009 Cheers guys, but I was really interested in if anyone has any experince in the one I mentioned ARTISAN & ARTIST* LMB-D4HG D-LUX 4 SERIES BLACK LEATHER HALF CASE NEW! (CASE DESIGNED FOR CAMERA WITH GRIP ATTACHED) Looks like a protective shell that can be used with and without the tube adapter (and the grip). And then just slung into a larger case
mhoutman Posted August 19, 2009 Share #7 Posted August 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) hi, the A & A case looks very nice but yet has no possibility to put the camera on a tripod. i use the panasonic lumix lx3 case. ref DMW-CLX3-K. it is a black full/half case and i like it very much. check it out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mhoutman/sets/72157608744113007/ michiel
cstevens Posted August 19, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted August 19, 2009 Thanks Michiel That looks like a good solution to just use the base, however I also have the grip, so probably no good. What neck strap are you using there also: L1010221 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Now I have the lens adapter and grip, it makes it more obvious to use a neck strap but the Leica one isnt great. leicanut2 Posted August 19, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 19, 2009 Neoprine case I was using a black sock to keep it in when going place and having it around my neck. Now I gotta order me one. Cheers and thanks for the imfo. Jan
cstevens Posted August 19, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted August 19, 2009 Just measured the D-Lux with grip and adapter and it comes to : Width - 12.5cm (4.5") Hight - 7.5cm (3") Depth - 8.5cm (3 1/4") "Think" I have found the perfect case then. Tenor mentioned the Op/Tech D-Micro, but that is too small for the grip and the adapter, however I have found the Op/Tech D-Small and this seems to near enough exactly fit the sizes. 4.4"w x 3.5"h x 3.25"d Makes for an ideal cover to then chuck in a bigger bag.
