I don't have Win7 Professional but I understand it allows you to run XP as a virtual OS in parallel. So you can have your cake and eat it, too. Doug PS: whichever version you decide on, get the 64 bit OS. It will be more "future proof". NB - you have to check if the processor on your computer is able to support virtualisation. This is a machine specific feature. You can download a program from Intel which checks. Check this page: Download Windows XP Mode The trick is that even if you buy Windows 7 pro, you have to download the XP mode code. I found to my annoyance that my brand new Sony Vaio doesn't support virtualisation. My Dell Precision T3400 does however. REALLY important to check hardware before making the leap.
