grober Posted November 15, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dropping off my car at the dealer for service early this morning, I quickly snapped this wide angle shot in the showroom of their new 2007 model. WB set to Fluorescent; 1/60th sec; ISO 640; no image manipulation except to re-size for uploading. The mixed lighting in this shot is fluorescent tubes overhead with lots of cloudy daylight coming in from behind me through the showroom's main door. Since my unaltered 25mm Biogon invokes the "incorrect" 28/90 frame in the M8's viewfinder, I'm learning to ignore all the frames and just use the entire viewfinder glass to roughly frame the desired image. (I don't wear glasses when shooting only for chimping later.) A mini tripod, lower ISO setting and use the M8's self-timer would have improved the shot, no doubt. The M8 is starting to be fun despite its teething problems; I would never have captured this image with film 'cause of the lack of immediate feedback that I now take for granted with this "electric" Leica-M. With the M8, a shift in my shooting style and frequency is taking place. -g
