IanRW Posted August 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having purchased a M8 my trusty R8 has taken a back seat and I haven't used it for some time. When I did want to shoot some film I found that it had developed a fault. The shutter did not always fire. I discovered that if I removed the battery pack and reinstalled it the camera worked fine as long as I keep using it. If I leave the battery pack on for a few hours the fault returns. Fitting new batteries makes no difference. Any ideas?

williesheldon Posted August 14, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2009 Sounds to me your camera needs some cleaning. Grab yourself a cue tip, rubbing alcohol and clean the contacts on the door, clean the contacts below the shutter and clean the film detection contacts where the cartridge sits. Try that and I hope all is well. Willie Sheldon willie@sheldonphotography.com
