poynterama Posted August 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was lucky enough to tour the construction site of the new Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) at Moorilla near Hobart yesterday. I took the Digilux 2 and ended up shooting about 200 frames (every one a pleasure ) Having just imported them to Lightroom, I noticed the strange horizontal line across the top of the attached photo. Is this the first sign of my original sensor starting to die? It was interesting that this was the only shot to feature the artefact, and I shot many successful photos after this. FYI, it's at ISO400, zoomed to 7mm (probably corresponds to around 28mm), f11 @ 1/400th. EDIT: added an extract of the line. Should I break out the tissues and have a cry, or is it just a freak occurrence?
Advertisement Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Hi poynterama, Take a look here Am I paranoid or is my D2 sensor dying?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted August 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 11, 2009 Maybe the card? I don't think it's the sensor, because when that goes it tends to be catastrophic--major color shifts, ripples over the whole image, etc. I haven't seen this effect, though, so it may be a sign of impending doom. Probably nothing to worry about as long as it's rare. Have you tried importing it a second time, just to be sure? Good luck!
