vla Posted August 8, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) good evening, i recently got a lumix g1 as a back-up camera for my m8. behaves very nicely and i am looking forward to get the novoflex adapter for my m lenses ... i am aware of the fact that aperture does not yet support the g1 raw files. the jpegs look allright but still - it would be nice to process raw files in aperture. anyone know how to make aperture read the g1 raws? many thnx and have a nice weekend ... markus
Advertisement Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Hi vla, Take a look here help - how to make aperture read limix g1 raw files?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted August 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 8, 2009 Does the Adobe DNG converter recognise the files? If so use it to convert the G1 files to DNG.
sandymc Posted August 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 9, 2009 DNG with Aperture??? Unfortunately, Aperture isn't very good at reading DNGs. I'd be surprised if it read one from a G1 at all, or if it did that the results were reasonable. So far as I know, there is no hack for the G1 - you'll probably just have to wait for support from Apple. Sandy
vla Posted August 9, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted August 9, 2009 thnx for your replies. i used panasonic's silky pix to create tiffs and processed those in aperture. @ sandy - i regularly process dng files from my m8 with aperture, no issues whatsoever. markus

G1 via DNG converter files - I think not - but by all means do the experiment and report back:D Sandy
ho_co Posted August 17, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 17, 2009 Markus-- I don't use Aperture, so can't give specific help--but: Remember, there was a major shift in the DNG specification a few months after the LX3 / D-Lux 4 came out with post-camera image correction instructions built in. Therefore there's a major difference in the way DNG Converter 5.2 handles the files and the way the current version does. That means two different conversions possible, so you might want to try both. And as Sandy said, do let us know!
