bradreiman Posted November 15, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ahhh the glamour. backstage in idaho. my friend chris. M8 with CVNokton 35 1.2/ awb/ jpg/ i think iso640(check the exif if you care) zero processing except slight crop. Seriously-I love this camera. In black n white it really reminds me of my beloved apx100. Outside the colors are stunning. inside....not so much but i like bnw inside anyway-i can wait for the fix.....b

rob_x2004 Posted November 15, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 15, 2006 I can see a lot of "technically correct exposure" frames are going to be posted with this camera. It will be interesting when people loosen up with it a bit and start making images, when confidence returns and maybe come back a bit from the higher ISO stuff. Should be a wicked beast to use. Great prospects.
bradreiman Posted November 15, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 15, 2006 hi rob-i never look at exif so don't know where it went between capture1 and aperture. whats wrong with iso640 in low light indoors? i find the files have nice detail and very low noise. rob_x2004 Posted November 15, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 15, 2006 Nothing wrong with the file at all. That is what I mean, great prospects. If you were APXing the background would probably be inky black and you would have to work your proverbial off to catch a decent exposure on the subject. Some people find those shots photographically artistic I guess, whereas this one is pretty clinical. Beats me, I see this sort of thing and I think the M8 is likely to be one hell of an image maker. I prefer the look of film, but that is just a taste thing. Images like this are making it really hard to justify not making the switch.
robsteve Posted November 16, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 16, 2006 Brad: In my search for the 486 ir filter I found one cheap in 52mm, which is not a size I need. How can I send you a link to where it is for sale?
squiff Posted November 18, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 18, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) it sounds like an interesting feild in which to work, i can see how the 'glamour' could wear off pretty quicky, still interesting for me, someone whos interested in your line of work. The image does have the look of APX, I wonder if the subject, Chris, looking at the camera would enhance the image, create a bit of interaction with the viewer. Lovely tone though, I am excited to get my paws on an M8 and give it a whirl, got to experience all the hype before I throw my 2 cents in.......... s
ron110n Posted November 18, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 18, 2006 I think even mere cropping with PSCS2 will remove the exif with it's latest update. I may be wrong, but same here; I cannot see my exif on both D2 and LX1. Nice backstage snap Brad! -Ron
andybarton Posted November 18, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 18, 2006 Converting to sRGB strips EXIF info, as does "Save for web", IIRC.
