Leaving the lens cap on is something that many people have done - once at least :-) LOL. I remember going into a shop to look at an M4. Here is another stupid question, but is there a SD card in the Camera and is it an SD card on the approved list? I suggest you call Leica and see what they say if you cannot otherwise figure it out. yeah yeah, already called Leica too. remember, I've got (gorgeous!) files, but shot by means of "The Force", not because of any coupling of the metering to shutter speed.... so i'm returning mine today, and then decide whether i want to wait for the infernal "second shipment" so far for Leica QC.
