Tekerolant Posted August 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today I attached the new Zuiko 25mm f 2,5 pancake lens to my Digilux 3. The bulky kit lens feels even more clumsy now. This is very well balanced and handy combination. The lens is very good in quality. The only minus (so far) is that it has no aperture ring. One just has to control the aperture with shutter speed - or go fully automatic.

Maybe you missed that you can change the aperture via the thumb dial at the back. It's also the only way to set the camera to aperture priority from Program and back. It works like this with any (auto) lense that does not provide an aperture ring. I do not use the Oly 25/2.8 very much but agree with you that this pancake is a good lense and makes the D/3 almost pocketable. Unfortunately it is not suitable for critical work as it shows some barrel distortion, but you can of course correct it in PS or the like. Anyway without any straight line at the border this goes almost unnoticed making this lense a real bargain for its price. Welcome to the forum. (I'll keep on reading the manual -who knows what there is more to find out...)
