jonoslack Posted November 14, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi There This is a drab scene, but better for my purposes - I principally shoot landscape and nature shots, and one of the bugbears of most digital cameras is the smeary look which can creep into vegetation. I thought I'd do a little test to see how the jpg's stood up from the M8, I shot this as fine jpg and DNG, and then converted the DNG file using the default settings in ACR and in C1 Le. the colour in the jpg, although slightly green, is considerably more accurate - the C1 is too yellowish and the ACR conversion a bit 'faint'. Unfortunately the jpg shows the smeariness usually associated with noise reduction all over the place - it's not very bad, but it's present everywhere. 100% crop - 50mm 'cron at f5 Kind regards Jono slack jonathan slack - photographs
