All right, this will seem ridiculous to some people, but I was talking to a dealer today who said that he'd been told that he would be getting a few returns because of the problems. I asked if this would be an opportunity to buy, and he said yes...

I suggest you go out and shoot directly into some strong lights. Dont be bashfull try all kinds.

I suggest you head out with a black velvet cloth and shoot some weddings with the thing draped around the bride. Maybe your daughters wedding a one off affair?

I suggest you forward your phone number to me so that I can reach you in the depths of your despair and buy it from you cheap.

Please people, nothing positive in this thread...I want two.

Seriously, why would anyone go out and buy a 'USED' camera with a 'KNOWN" problem? Sold as seen ?

You could never claim you had been disappointed in it's performance and relying on Leica fixing it would be an act of faith. I'd expect it to be different when bought new, or before the IQ quality issues arose.

Not suggesting that Leica will not solve the problems, as I trust they will, but the used market has grey areas I don't want to tackle.

I would without any second thoughts- If the price is right and if I can send it to Solms to get rid of the IR cut filter altogether.

Any idea how much these will cost?

We all would, IF the price is right.

What price is right for you ? $4,850, or $2,500

??

$2,500 is OK for me because of the microlens array and the higher mp.

I don't mind scratched/beat up bodies. I don't even mind scratches on the sensor cover (the infamous IR cut filter) by some digital newbie.

I don't think there are THAT insane Leica users who would plunk $4,850 for an used M8.

May be there are! Who knows?
