chrism Posted November 13, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 13, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) This afternoon I reread Guy's threads on the cut filter and ISO 1250 Stuff from top to bottom, and I have to say a big thank you to him and all who contributed to those threads. They were not only educational for me (I hail from a time when all lenses had an IR focussing mark, but my only personal experience so far has been extirpating the hot mirror from a Sigma SD10 for some IR fun), but exciting to read as well. Watching a problem being dissected and practically solved as the thread progressed was like reading a detective thriller! My only worry now is that when my M8 arrives in Toronto this week the dealer will have been instructed to halt sales! Chris

Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 13, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 13, 2006 Thanks Chris the camera goes to work tonight for real , so we will find out. I talked to Sean on the phone today about his wedding and from the LCD screen he says it looks like a success with the filters . i am doing a PR gig tonight and I am going for it. BTW thanks for your comments it is much easier to be productive to fix it for my health than cry over the issues.
rpierce Posted November 14, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 14, 2006 As a new owner, I want to add my second to this post and thank Guy for his efforts in finding ways to effectively use the M8 to get results while we wait for Leica's solution. Meanwhile, my 39mm 486 filter is on backorder. Bob Pierce
