A plea for true balance

There's been a great deal of angry criticism of people posting streaked, IR, or green-blobbed images from the M8, and the statement has been reiterated ad nauseam that "Leica are fixing this - stop posting and give them a chance".

Can i just make a plea to the contrary - there are beginning to be a lot of positive posts of beautiful images, and (thank god) the camera seems to be capable of taking extraordinary photographs.

But there are also many of us that want to know what to really expect from different shooting conditions, and i'm wary that this forum is being bullied back into the status quo ante, where everyone waxed lyrical about Leica products, no matter what.

Over the weekend, i even saw a thread (about what actually turned-out to NOT be a new problem: 'red-lining') that was initially discouraged by other members telling the poster to "stop pixel-peeping". I genuinely never thought i'd see the M8 needing that sort of defence.

Sorry that some members think this is just negativity - but i truly believe that the forum should strive to be balanced and truthful.

When my M8 arrives, i want to know what to really expect. I think that's only fair.
