Guest BigSplash Posted July 24, 2009 Share #41 Posted July 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree they are just doing their job, and I have no issue with that unless they move towards being over zealous. That is my position about the police questioning photographers also ...They are doing their job and we the general public should support them until a point is reached where they abuse the powers that they have. People seem to be anti -CTV watching them, anti databases, and anti identity cards. In the marine situation you may be interested to know that the French coast is littered with underwater microphones so that the authorities can listen to the unique sound of each approaching vessel ......I think that is OK if it helps protect the public. My boat is ocean going (its an Oyster) and one day I may take it outside Europe but NZ seems a long way off, although many people say the sailing is excellent. You certainly have people in NZ who know how to build boats. Currently I am discussing with friends about taking her to Malta for the October Leica shoot but it is a journey of 450 miles or 3 days of gourmet eating on board.
