At the end of the day, you cannot rely on someone else's review of Blurb. Everyone comes with his or her own expectations and demands. To know whether Blurb is for you, you have to try it. I did two books with it. They were fine, but I have not rushed to do a third. For my money, I would rather do a portfolio of individual prints and put them in a clamshell box. I have also decided to teach myself inDesign so I can create an electronic book.

I received my first attempt at producing a book using blurb in the mail today... and I am very satisfied with the quality. Great relief!

I had been expecting the worst after having read quite a bit of grizzling and tales of bad blurb experiences on this forum, but the only things

(just a couple) wrong with my book are errors made by me due to my own lack of experience.

The entire book is in colour and I can find no fault with blurb's reproductions of the images I sent them, using LR5. The book is really so much better than I had anticipated. So....trying a b&w book next.
